I have fallen into such bad habits as far as my writing goes. I write nearly every day but it's been stories with my writing partner and not my own stuff. That's not a good thing. We're past the halfway mark for the year and I have yet to reach my new year's resolution of actually finishing one of these stories. That needs to change. I've been playing with bullet journaling for a while now, trying to use it to achieve some balance between work and my personal life but maybe I need to add in my writing. It's a thought!

The goal for today: Set up my new bullet journal and post something on my website.

Here we go!

Next chapter is being proofread but I was asked an interesting question by the hubby. "Why don't you sit down and write two pages a day until it's done then edit it all at once?" Good question, right? The answer is, I don't know if I'd be able to sit and focus on just this story. My brain likes to skip around and toss inspiration for the forty plus stories that are bouncing around my skull. I swear my muse has ADD or something. Trying to get started on the next chapter so after this one goes up it's not such a long wait but, eh. We all know my track record on this stuff.

Working on the next chapter of Favorite Form and we're finally getting back to Dimitri. This is NOT an easy chapter to write! Most of it's in his head with not much action happening so it'll be kinda short but it's a really important chapter so I want to get it right. Music has been a huge help in getting this chapter done. Hopefully, it'll be up soon! ;) Points to anyone who can guess which song helped inspire this one.

Yes, I am still alive. Work has been uber hectic lately and I've been feeling a bit...lethargic when I get home. That has meant no writing though, I did manage to crank something out for NaNoWriMo. It will be a beast to edit (at the very end I decided something needed to change to make the whole thing work which means everything I'd already done has to change so it all makes sense) but bleargh, that's for later.

The holidays are here so I figured it would be good to get back into better habits, start the new year right and all that jazz. You can feel my enthusiasm, I know it. :p It's all good. Falling back like I did just means a running start to catch back up to where I was! Regular blog posts and ACTUALLY UPDATING SOMETHING, OMFG WHEN DID I LAST UPDATE A STORY???? Ahem....so! Like I said, I will be getting back into better habits. That means writing at least something on here once a week. Here we go, again! LOL

Priorities

When trying to be productive, I've found that it's important to set a priority level for every task. I'm not so good at this outside of work but I'm trying to get better. By getting better, putting my personal life ahead of work sometimes. This isn't an easy thing to do. There's constantly a list of work things in the back of my head and I either consciously or subconsciously plan my days/weeks/months around that list. Hell, I tried to plan my wedding around it >.< Hubby was not pleased with that but we worked it out...for the most part.

I've been finding myself doing it again and I really need to quit it. Burning out and distancing myself from family and loved ones is NOT a good thing. My personal projects and labors of love have been falling to the wayside too. So! Today marks me resetting my priorities and putting my personal life higher on the list. Wish me luck!

Camp NaNoWriMo is coming! This July I hope to finish writing How Many Licks Does It Take, my Erotic Lesbian Fiction story. I previously had this almost done but then due to drama (this seriously isn't modeled after anyone, ffs) I had to redo the entire story and rewrite a vast majority of it. I've got about half of the rewrite done but this July I plan on finishing the rest of it. There should only be about 26K words left before it's complete. Wish me luck!

An interesting opportunity has come up. Someone contacted me with an intriguing plot to a story they would like me to help write for them. It's going to be a bit of a challenge as these aren't MY characters so I'll have to get to know them first. There's also some research that I'll need to do to learn the setting, cultural taboos for the area the story takes place, etc. I'm very excited about it though! The plot is something very different from any of my stories but it's definitely something I can do. Need to break out my writer's reference books too, this is going to take some subtlety...which I have extremely little of in real life. T_T Oh, well! Now is the time to pick up new tricks!
