safieri: what a turkey would look like if you were on an acid trip (Default)

Argh, I fell out of my rhythm. There was practically no work done on my independent projects. I got some collaborative stuff done but totally messed up my schedule. It also means I missed the time period to validate my novel and win NaNoWriMo. That's a bit of a pisser but eh. The majority of my story was written and that's the important thing!

I hate to admit this but Argentroses might be right about the exercise. Need to find a balance between my work and personal life too. Today was probably my only day off and I spent the majority of it doing work stuff. Really need to fix that. But it's hard! I like helping people! There's a part of me that automatically wants to say, "Sure! I can do that for you!" Understanding and enforcing my limits is just being a responsible adult, though. More things to work at but it's all part of the plan to improve.

National Novel Writing Month is here! Woohoo! I am already behind on my writing! Yes! Okay, I probably shouldn't be that enthusiastic over my lack of productivity...oh well! Friday was my birthday so screw it! ^_^ I'm happy anyway! Tomorrow is my day off so I can catch up then. Honestly, I'll be working on Expectations and Favorite Form. With all the followers that FF has, I feel really bad that it hasn't updated in so long. Expectations was supposed to be a Halloween short story and it is now past Halloween soooo...yeah. Need to get that one finished.

For the past year it's felt like I keep breaking my promises about what I'm going to update. I've been doing little drabbles here and there to avoid punishments from Argentroses but not real updates. That needs to change. No idea HOW I can change that realistically, just saying I'll work on it doesn't mean that said work will actually get done. Perhaps I'll take advantage of those sponsor offers and use that time management program. If I can identify where my time sinks are then I can plan around them. Perhaps make a schedule and stick to it? That sounds doable. We'll see how it works!

Okay, I should probably be working more on finishing my Halloween short story and that other short story I posted but it's 9 days till November! You know what that means! National Novel Writing Month! XD

This year I will be attempting to finish Doors, the novel I had planned on writing my first NaNo... That didn't happen. It is 2016, though! This year I will be finishing the first draft! I'm a bit more experienced in the ways of NaNo now. This year I will also try to get other little snippets up but they won't be the priority. I might ACTUALLY get them done, though because they will be short stories about characters in my NaNo Novel.

In short, I am again promising to do more than I will likely be able to do during November. Huzzah!

I'm taking a stab at writing Supernatural Horror with my Bloodlines Series. I've posted Chapter 1 of the first book Mirror Images on Fictionpress and Inkitt. I've got the whole thing planned out for 7 books and I have to say, I'm excited. Hopefully others enjoy this one too!

This story was my project for Camp NaNo in July but I'm still tweaking it before editing and posting more. If it gets a following in the future I'll likely give it more love. Currently though, I am finishing up Favorite Form Book 1 First Meetings! This is by far my most popular story and I am dedicating the month of November (National Novel Writing Month) to finishing it! Here's to a month of happy productivity! (I'm hoping for :p)

It's coming up on Holiday season and I for one am excited. Besides the usual fun with family and friends along with the sales to get ready for at work, I've got a Favorite Form side story too. I'm still writing it but hopefully it'll be ready in time for November. Especially since November is NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I will participating again this year once I figure out which story to do. O_O

The chapters are taking longer than usual (getting into a nasty habit of taking too long aren't I?). A few new developments have kept me from getting them done promptly and I don't want to put out the next chapter of Favorite Form without the following chapter being ready to go up really soon afterward. Do You Speak 1337 is almost ready to go up.

With Camp NaNoWriMo coming up I also have to get the story I'll be writing for that ready to start on April 1st. For those who don't know NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month (November). It was one hell of a ride in November and probably one of the worst times for me to do something like that seeing as I work retail (putting away Halloween costumes and putting out all the Christmas stuff...the horror) but it was a lot of fun. Camp NaNoWriMo is held twice a year, in April and July. If writing an entire novel in a month sounds interesting to you, check out the links below:

Check them out, if you write it's got some really cool information and tools. Alrighty! Off to bed and I'll get back to working on the chapters tomorrow (or would that technically be today considering it's 2am?)

During November I participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and it was an eye opening experience. There are so many resources out there to help with writing! Not just self-publishing and editing but writing programs geared specifically for this. I honestly didn't think I'd be able to afford any of them right now but with the 50% discount given to NaNoWriMo winners I was able to get Scrivener. It has helped a WHOLE LOT. O_O Transferring all my notes onto it is proving to be a pain in the tush but it's already helping immensely, especially with the outlines and being able to easily get to all my notes. The fact that it will compile things and put them into e-book format and all that is going to come in handy too. The format for the updates may be a bit different but I'll get it down in a bit. Okay, enough goofing off. Time to get back to writing Favorite Form. Chapter 6 left off on an interesting note so I won't make you guys wait much longer. Back to work!

The last day of November! Phew! This month has been a really hectic rollercoaster but I made it! I know the updates haven't been going up like I promised but they'll be flowing again soon. The Novel for National Novel Writing Month is done so that's a big thing off my plate. Writing together with roseargent we blew past the 50,000 mark and wrote 61,314 words. My brain is mush. It feels awesome to accomplish this after thinking we wouldn't (we started out the month writing individually then realized we had written a novel during our break time role playing, who knew?). Back to Favorite Form and Do You Speak 1337! Chapters are almost done my lovelies so thank you so very much for the patience!

Is anyone else doing this? Basically you write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. Sounds like a challenge! Write ins? Events to meet other authors and inspire each other? Sign me up! Let's do this!
